We have served customers with applications ranging from electric crimpers and torque wrenches to electric climbing aid.
All our motors are made-to-order and tailored to the specific requirements of our customers. This can include adjustments to housing, shaft, number of poles, winding, cooling, IP rating, potting material, magnet material, adding gearbox, etc. These adjustments allow us to build the most efficient, lightest, most robust but at the same time most powerful motors for the specific application of our customers. Our motors are ideally suited for applications with constraints in space, weight and energy supply.
The complexity of drive system integration is often underestimated. Customers should think about thermal management, air flow and power supply early in the development phase. Our engineers have strong experience and stand ready to provide you with development and system integration support.
All our products are manufactured in Germany and our firmware is written inhouse. We assure full secrecy and confidentiality to our customers.

Electric Torque Wrench Project
Plettenberg developed and manufactured an electric drive system for an electric torque wrench project
The Challenge:
A customer approached us for the development and manufacturing of a motor for an electric torque wrench. The customer had very specific requirements regarding torque power, size and weight. In addition, the customer was looking for a partner that could support long product lifecycle and spare parts supply.
Our Solution:
We work hand in hand with our customer to develop a tailored motor. We supported the engineering team of our customer with our motor manufacturing and integration expertise. We can also support the product series for an extended period of time of +10 years, including aftermarket support.
Customer Benefit:
The customer received all required engineering as well as integration support and finished all project milestones within schedule. All motor related challenges could already be mitigated in development phase. The full series is in production and has been a full success. Given our high vertical integration and production in Germany, there was no shortage of supplies or supply chain challenges.
